Q1.
Where should the speakers be placed in the room?

A1.
Relative to the room, speakers are best placed approximately 25% of the way into the room from the back wall. This typically provides a more even bass response within the listening space.
Relative to the listener, speakers should be positioned as far apart as the listening distance.
Speakers should be toed in, so that the drive units point directly towards the listener.

Q2.
What kind of amplification should be used?

A2.
As a general guideline, the calibre of electronics should match the loudspeakers.

Amplification preference can be subjective, but generally speaking a well designed amplifier will sound detailed, tonally accurate and dynamic.

High power, high damping factor (low output impedance) and power delivery that approaches double when impedance halves are good indicators of high performance.

However, not all performance parameters can be read from specification. We therefore recommend auditioning amplifiers with both the speakers and your source before purchase.

Q3.
What music source should be used?

A3.
Source quality can make or break an entire system. High-performance sound must begin with a high-fidelity source.

Whether you choose reel-to-reel master tape, vinyl, or high-resolution digital audio, implementation quality matters more than format alone.

We therefore recommend auditioning the source in combination with the amplifiers and the speakers before purchase.

Q4.
Will large speakers only sound good in a large room?

A4.
Morgan Acoustics loudspeakers are designed to deliver convincing low-frequency extension with speed, control and scale in medium to large listening spaces.

However, room treatment is often a more significant factor than room size. A well-treated smaller room - using bass traps and diffusion - can outperform a larger but untreated listening space.

Q5.
Grilles on or off?

A5.
For critical listening, grilles should be removed. Grille frames introduce diffraction - a source of distortion. With grilles removed, this source of distortion is avoided.

Q6.
Where can I listen?

A6.
The best way to evaluate the speakers is within your own room, using your electronics. Please Contact Us and we will help you arrange a home demonstration with one of our dealers.
